Why It Works

Key Benefits

🍄
Ten Mushroom Ingredients, Amounts From the Label
Per serving of 2 vegetable capsules (30 servings per container) the label lists 266 mg each of Cordyceps sinensis powder (mycelium), Reishi extract, Shiitake extract and Lion's Mane, plus a 266 mg proprietary blend of Maitake, Turkey Tail, Chaga, Royal Sun Agaricus (Agaricus blazei), White Button and Black Fungus extracts: 1,330 mg in total. The six blend extracts are not listed separately; if split equally each would be about 44 mg. Trials tested single mushrooms, often in other preparations and at larger amounts, and no study of this blend is cited.
🧠
Lion's Mane: One Small Trial, at About Ten Times This Amount
In a 16-week trial of 30 Japanese adults aged 50 to 80 with mild cognitive impairment, the group taking Lion's Mane (four 250 mg tablets of 96% dry powder, three times a day, about 2.9 g of powder a day) scored higher on a cognitive scale than placebo at weeks 8, 12 and 16, and scores fell after intake stopped. The first author is affiliated with a mushroom company. This product provides 266 mg of Lion's Mane per serving, about 9% of that trial amount by weight, so the result cannot be applied to it. A 2025 systematic review found five randomized and three pilot trials and noted that side effects are commonly unreported.
🛡️
Reishi, Shiitake and Turkey Tail: Small Studies of Immune Measures, Larger Amounts
A Reishi beta-glucan raised several immune cell counts versus placebo in 84 days in healthy adults, with no significant change in kidney or liver tests; whether it reduced infections was not reported, and the label does not state a beta-glucan amount for the 266 mg Reishi extract. In 52 healthy adults, 5 or 10 g a day of whole dried Shiitake for 4 weeks increased immune cell proliferation in laboratory tests; this product has 266 mg of Shiitake extract per serving, about 3 to 5% of that weight. A phase 1 trial gave a Turkey Tail preparation (3, 6 or 9 g a day) to women with breast cancer after radiotherapy and reported trends in immune measures; the whole six-extract blend here is 266 mg. These are laboratory measures, not proof of fewer infections or better health.
⚡
Cordyceps: One Small Trial, at About Four Times This Amount
In a 12-week trial of 20 healthy adults aged 50 to 75, a Cordyceps sinensis product called Cs-4 (333 mg three times a day, 999 mg a day) raised the metabolic threshold by 10.5% and the ventilatory threshold by 8.5% on a bicycle test, with no change in VO2 max; the authors called it a pilot study. This product provides 266 mg of Cordyceps sinensis mycelium powder per serving, about a quarter of that amount, and the label does not say it is Cs-4.
⚠️
Cautions: Chaga, Reishi, Agaricus blazei, Allergy and Medicines
Chaga is high in oxalate. Case reports describe kidney failure and acute kidney injury after months of Chaga powder at 4 to 5 teaspoons or 10 to 15 g a day; this product contains at most 266 mg of Chaga extract per serving (as part of the blend), far less, but its oxalate content is not stated. Case reports describe liver injury, including one fatal case, with Reishi powder, and liver injury in a woman taking a mushroom powder of Agaricus blazei and Lion's Mane (three capsules a day); the label lists Royal Sun Agaricus (Agaricus blazei). Mushrooms can cause allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis. Black Fungus extracts reduced platelet clumping in laboratory tests. People with kidney or liver disease, mushroom allergy, autoimmune conditions, or who take immunosuppressants, blood thinners or diabetes medicines should ask a doctor or pharmacist first.
🔬
Several Ingredients Have Little or No Human Trial Data
No published human trial of Chaga was found in the PubMed searches made for this review. For White Button, a phase 1 trial gave white button mushroom powder (up to 14 g a day) to men with recurrent prostate cancer, against at most 266 mg of White Button extract here; for Maitake the human trials found are small; for Black Fungus the antiplatelet findings are laboratory findings. No benefit for general wellness is established for these ingredients, and because the label does not give the amount of each blend extract, the trial amounts cannot be compared with them.
✅This product is for you if…
Adults who want a supplement that combines ten mushroom ingredients and who have read the label amounts and the precautions on this page

You have kidney stones, reduced kidney function or a condition that raises oxalate absorption: Chaga is high in oxalate and case reports describe kidney failure and acute kidney injury after regular use of Chaga powder (several grams a day); the label lists Chaga extract in a 266 mg blend and does not state its oxalate content; speak with your doctor before use
You have liver disease, drink alcohol regularly or take medicines that can affect the liver: case reports describe liver injury with Reishi powder and with a mushroom powder containing Agaricus blazei, which the label lists as Royal Sun Agaricus; speak with your doctor before use
You have an autoimmune condition, have had an organ transplant or take immunosuppressant medicines: the effects of these mushrooms in these groups have not been studied; ask your prescriber or pharmacist first

Clinical Evidence

Published research relevant to this product. These studies were generally not conducted on this specific product.

🔬
In a double-blind trial of 30 Japanese adults aged 50 to 80 with mild cognitive impairment, Lion's Mane dry powder (four 250 mg tablets, three times a day, for 16 weeks) was associated with higher cognitive scale scores than placebo at weeks 8, 12 and 16, and scores decreased significantly 4 weeks after intake stopped; laboratory tests showed no adverse effects. The first author's affiliation is a mushroom company
🔬
A 2025 systematic review of Hericium erinaceus (Lion's Mane) included five randomized trials, three pilot trials and many laboratory studies; Mini-Mental State Examination scores in one randomized and one pilot trial showed a combined weighted mean increase of 1.17 in the intervention group; possible side effects, commonly unreported, were stomach discomfort, headache and allergic reactions
🔬
In a trial of healthy adults aged 18 to 55, a Reishi beta-glucan taken for 84 days was associated with higher CD3+, CD4+ and CD8+ T-cell counts, natural killer cell counts, serum IgA and natural killer cell cytotoxicity than placebo, with no significant change in kidney or liver tests; the abstract does not report whether infections were fewer
🔬
A Cochrane review of five trials (398 participants) of Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) found no significant effect on HbA1c, cholesterol or body-mass index in two trials of people with type 2 diabetes (1.4 to 3 g a day for 12 to 16 weeks); adverse events were more frequent with Reishi over four months than with placebo, although not serious and not statistically significant
🔬
In 52 healthy adults aged 21 to 41, eating 5 or 10 g a day of whole dried Shiitake mushrooms for 4 weeks increased the ex vivo proliferation of gamma-delta T cells and NK-T cells and saliva IgA, and lowered C-reactive protein; these are laboratory measures
🔬
In a phase 1 dose-escalation trial of 11 women with breast cancer after radiotherapy, a Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor) preparation at 3, 6 or 9 g a day for 6 weeks was well tolerated, with trends toward higher lymphocyte counts and natural killer cell activity; the authors described the findings as suggesting it may improve immune status
🔬
In a trial of healthy adults, bread containing one of two Maitake strains for 11 or 18 weeks did not change the overall incidence of upper respiratory infection episodes versus placebo; one strain was associated with fewer cumulative days of fever and runny nose and with changes in immune parameters in middle-aged and older adults
🔬
In a 12-week trial of 20 healthy adults aged 50 to 75, the Cordyceps product Cs-4 (333 mg three times a day) raised the metabolic threshold by 10.5% and the ventilatory threshold by 8.5%, with no change in VO2 max in either group; the authors called it a pilot study
🔬
In a phase 1 trial of 36 men with biochemically recurrent prostate cancer given white button mushroom powder, no dose-limiting toxicity was found and the overall PSA response rate was 11%, with a decline below baseline in 36% after 3 months; doses reached 14 g a day
🔬
In a laboratory screen of hot-water extracts of eight edible mushroom species, extracts of black fungus (Auricularia auricula-judae) and Pleurotus eryngii showed the most promising antiplatelet effects against ADP- and arachidonic-acid-induced platelet aggregation, compared with acetylsalicylic acid
🔬
In a laboratory study, hot-water extracts of Mo-er (Auricularia auricula, a black tree fungus) strongly inhibited ADP-induced aggregation of human and rat platelets
🔬
In a randomized trial of 40 healthy volunteers, Reishi capsules (1.5 g a day for 4 weeks) caused no significant between-group differences in coagulation, platelet function or thrombelastography results compared with placebo
🔬
A case report described a patient with fatal fulminant hepatitis after 1 to 2 months of taking Reishi (Lingzhi) mushroom powder; both this patient and a patient reported in 2004 had taken other therapeutic agents, and the authors called for close monitoring of Lingzhi powder, especially with other drugs
🔬
A case report described a 47-year-old man with acute hepatitis after consuming Reishi (Ganoderma lingzhi) powder and alcohol; liver tests and symptoms resolved within two weeks
🔬
A case report described a woman with grade 3 liver cell injury and cholestasis who had taken a mushroom powder supplement containing Agaricus blazei and Hericium erinaceus (Lion's Mane); liver function improved after the supplement was stopped, and the authors linked the injury mainly to Agaricus blazei
🔬
A case report described a 72-year-old woman who started hemodialysis after taking Chaga mushroom powder (4 to 5 teaspoons a day) for about 6 months; oxalate nephropathy was diagnosed and the authors noted that Chaga contains extremely high oxalate concentrations
🔬
A case report described a 49-year-old man with end-stage renal disease and oxalate crystal deposits after long-term Chaga powder use; the Chaga powder contained 14.2 g of oxalate per 100 g
🔬
A case report described a 69-year-old man who developed acute kidney injury with oxalate crystal deposits after taking 10 to 15 g a day of Chaga powder plus vitamin C for 3 months; kidney function recovered after dialysis and steroid treatment
🔬
A case report and literature review described grade 3 hypotensive anaphylaxis after eating button mushroom (Agaricus bisporus) in a 77-year-old woman who also had positive skin tests to other edible mushrooms including shiitake; 27 other cases were found in the literature, with cross-sensitization among edible mushroom species

Mushroom Complex 10 is a dietary supplement that combines ten mushroom ingredients. Each serving of 2 vegetable capsules provides 266 mg each of Cordyceps sinensis powder (mycelium), Reishi extract, Shiitake extract and Lion's Mane, plus a 266 mg proprietary blend of Maitake, Turkey Tail, Chaga, Royal Sun Agaricus (Agaricus blazei), White Button and Black Fungus extracts: 1,330 mg in total, with 30 servings per container. Medicinal mushrooms have a long history of use in traditional medicine, but traditional use is not evidence of benefit or safety.*

Human trials exist for some of these mushrooms on their own, but they are small, short and used other preparations, usually at much larger amounts than this product provides: a small trial of Lion's Mane in older adults with mild cognitive impairment used about 2.9 g of dry powder a day, a trial of dried Shiitake on immune cell responses in healthy adults used 5 or 10 g a day, and a Turkey Tail trial in women with breast cancer used 3 to 9 g a day, compared with 266 mg of each of Lion's Mane and Shiitake per serving here and 266 mg for the whole six-extract blend. For several others in the blend, human data are limited to small studies in specific patient groups or are lacking. Case reports link Chaga (at several grams of powder a day) to kidney injury and Reishi and Agaricus blazei to liver injury, and mushrooms can cause allergic reactions. No study of Mushroom Complex 10 itself is cited.*

Evidence Rating★★★★★Very limited evidence · Small human trials exist for some of these mushrooms on their own, mostly at larger amounts than this product provides; evidence for others in the blend is limited or lacking; no study of this blend is cited
